This report presents mathematics achievement results for students in the two grades with the largest proportion of 9-year-olds - the third and fourth grades in most countries across 26 countries. Special emphasis is placed on the fourth-grade results, including selected information about students' background and classroom practices in teaching mathematics. Comparisons with achievement at the eighth-grade are also presented.
